Clackmannanshire borders, Falkirk, Perth and Kinross, Fife and Stirling.

Alloa is the regions principal town. Clackmannanshire became known for weaving mills which were powered by the Hillfoot burns, other industries included  agriculture, brewing and glass manufacturing. Due to its central position and transport links it attracts service industries and tourism.

The old county town Clackmannan is named after an ancient stone. In terms of population, Clackmannanshire is the smallest council area in mainland Scotland.

The Ochil hills dominate the northern third of the county, the river Black Devon flows past the town of Clackmannan to join the Forth.

Alloa, Clackmannan, Dollar, Menstrie, Sauchie, Tillicoultry and Tullibody are some of the towns and villages found in the region.
