Welcome to Renfrewshire

Renfrewshire is located in the west central Lowlands, it shares borders with Glasgow, North Ayrshire and West Dunbartonshire, and lies on the southern bank of the River Clyde.

The town of Paisley is the regions largest settlement and contains the historic county town, the royal burgh Renfrew.

Renfrewshire includes towns and villages such as Bridge of Weir, Erskine, Johnstone, Langbank, Linwood and Ralston.

Home to Scotlands second busiest airport, Glasgow International Airport at Abbotsinch, between Paisley and Renfrew.

Paisley contains several historic buildings including Paisley Abbey and Paisley Town Hall. Elderslie, outside of Paisley is the claimed birthplace of William Wallace and has a monument in his honour. The town of Johnstone is notable for Johnstone Castle. Renfrewshire contains the University of the West of Scotland.
